Zam Zam Water the Purest Water on Earth

Water from Zamzam is deemed one of the miracles of Islam. The Zamzam water produced in Mecca can be found in Masjid-haram of Saudi Arabia.

It is placed around 20 meters east of the Kaaba. Each year, millions of people consume Zamzam water during the Hajj or the Umrah rites. The benefits of Zamzam water have been supported by numerous hadiths and reports.

Ahadees Reference

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said,

“The water of Zamzam tops as the best all over the world,
indeed it is food and cures from many ailments.”

(Sahih al-Jami’, 3302)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,

Whatever intention or purpose one has when drinking the
water of Zamzam, it shall serve.”

(Narrated by Ibn Majah, 3062; this is a hasan hadith.)

“When you drink from Zamzam, turn to face the qiblah and mention the name of Allāh, drink three draughts and drink your fill of it. When you have finished, then praise Allāh.’ The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said, ‘The sign [that differentiates] between us and the hypocrites is that they do not drink their fill from Zamzam.” (Ibn Mājah)

Etiquettes of drinking Zam Zam Water

  • Make Wudu: It is good to perform wudu before drinking zam zam water.
  • Start with Bismillah: (In the name of God) before drinking.
  • Face the Qibla: Face the Qiblah if possible.
  • Drink with the right hand: Use right hand and look in to water.
  • Drink in Three Breaths: Drink in at least three sips.
  • Express Gratitude: Recite Alḥamdulillah after drinking

Dua Before Drinking Zamzam Water

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا وَاسِعًا، وَشِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ دَاء

“O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, a vast provision, and a cure from every disease.”

This dua beautifully encapsulates the multiple blessings that Zamzam water can bring.
